The old biology, based on the work of Louis Pasteur in the late 1800s, is the idea that disease comes from germs that invade the body from the outside. Dr. Young has found that when the body is in healthy alkaline balance, germs are unable to get a foothold.

Our bodies are very similar to a fish tank. If we don't maintain the pH level, over feed, or add pollutants to the fish tank the fish will become sick and die. In our bodies this can make us susceptible to sickness and disease.

There are many symptoms of an overly acidic body including overweight, underweight, allergies, fatigue, headaches, colds, and all sicknesses and diseases. The body is designed to protect itself from acid by storing it in fat cells to keep it from harming the organs, too much acid can cause us to be overweight. The toxins that an overly acid body can cause many different problems, underweight is a result of the yeast and fungus produced from over acidity. They feed on your nutrients and can reduce everything you eat by 50%. Toxins in the body can reduce the absorption of protein and minerals and interfere with the reconstruction of cells.

The symptoms of over-acidification can be eased and stopped by alkalizing the body.

There are three steps to alkalizing the body: Transition, Cleanse and eating alkaline. You can do them in any order but your last step should be eating alkaline. You can skip the transition if you like or if you are suffering from a major health problem, you should skip the transition and do a 14 day cleanse then eat alkaline. Most people transition, cleanse then eat alkaline. It is also good to cleanse before and after your transition. After your body is alkaline it is good to do a cleanse occasionally. If you do not think you can commit to eating alkaline do not worry, read the steps, and just make the changes you feel comfortable with. Many people say that they will never give up certain foods but they find when that make some small changes to their diet and drink more water that don't want the bad foods as much and eventually they don't eat them at all. Water is very important to neutralize and wash away acid. Just by drinking pure alkaline water with supergreens your body will be 60-80% more alkaline. Ideally you should drink at least 1 liter/quart of water per 30 lbs body weight a day with 16 pH drops and 1 scope supergreens per liter.

You should also try to control your thoughts and emotions. Bad thoughts and emotions can be 100 times more acidic than any food.

Exercise will also help expel acid from your body. However, if over done or you are not properly hydrated you could be adding acid to your body.
